Sometimes a child can be bright—or even gifted—yet face barriers to learning. For any child with learning challenges, being in the wrong academic environment can quickly wear at their self-esteem.
Enter SINAI Schools, which for over 40 years has been providing a top-level special education for children with a wide range of complex learning, developmental, or social and emotional challenges.
Operating eight elementary and high schools throughout New Jersey and New York—as well as a kindergarten program at the Irving Montak SINAI School at SAR Academy—SINAI goes to great lengths to create a highly individualized plan for each student to address their specific academic, social, and emotional needs. Whether at the elementary, middle school or high school level, students are grouped with other children who have similar challenges and strengths.
Under SINAI’s unique Inclusion by Design® model, each of our schools is integrated within a partner day school or high school, maximizing opportunities for both social and academic inclusion within the broader school community.
SINAI provides an array of cutting-edge therapies based on each child’s needs, including speech, occupational, art and physical therapy, as well as counseling services and social skills training. Class sizes are very small, and with a professional to student ratio greater than 1:2, we are able to customize a child’s program, tailoring it to their specific needs.
How do we measure success for our students and graduates? Every child is on a different journey, and our highly individualized program includes close work with our parents to set goals and help each student reach their maximum potential. For all of our students, regardless of their abilities, the goal is to help them gain independence and become valuable, productive members of our community.
