(Courtesy of SINAI Schools) SINAI students and families celebrated their creative accomplishments at SINAI’s Unique Inspirations Student Art Shows on Sunday, May 19 and Monday, May 21. Sunday’s show at Congregation Beth Abraham in Bergenfield featured the work of the students at SINAI’s New Jersey Schools, and Monday’s show at SAR Academy featured the work of students at the Irving Montak SINAI School at SAR Academy. All the work was created through the Paley-Mironov Art Therapy Program.
A highlight of the SINAI academic year since 2014, the art shows, sponsored by Bear Givers, are opportunities for students, families and community members to come together and celebrate the students’ artwork.
For many SINAI students, art is a tool that helps them communicate, making the messages on many of their canvases both meaningful and inspiring. “Art therapy helps our students manage their emotions, fostering self-awareness and self-worth,” noted art therapist Sarah Tarzik. “Engaging in art activities and using their creativity helps our students boost their confidence, connect with others, and makes them feel more resilient while decreasing their stress and anxiety.”
A final art show, featuring the artwork of students at SINAI at Yeshiva of Central Queens, was held on Wednesday, May 22.
The students’ artwork is available to view online and to purchase on canvas, mug, mousepad and greeting cards; visit https://sinaischools.org/2024-sinai-art-shows/. All proceeds support SINAI’s Paley-Mironov Art Therapy Program.
