The following article was written by students and teachers at the Cross River SINAI School@RYNJ, following a trip to Memorial Park in River Edge to honor local veterans.

In honor of Veterans Day, Class 4S at the Cross River SINAI School at RYNJ joined River Edge residents and veterans at Memorial Park to commemorate this special day. Students stood at attention and joined as the Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the national anthem was sung. The class got to meet several veterans, ask questions and present them with flowers, to thank them for their service. The ceremony commenced with a memorial dedication to River Edge veteran, Joseph “Mighty Joe” Maugeri, who served as a crossing guard for 23 years. The class felt so privileged to have had this experience.
