SINAI Welcomes New Director of Development

Tracy Weiss

(Courtesy of SINAI Schools) SINAI Schools welcomes Tracy Weiss as the new director of development. Weiss brings years of successful experience as a senior development professional to SINAI. A result-oriented leader with strong analytical and interpersonal skills, Her passion is to strengthen and support the Jewish community.

“Tracy has a deep appreciation for SINAI’s mission of helping children with complex learning and development disabilities reach their full potential,” said Sam Fishman, managing director of Sinai Schools. “Brimming with warmth and compassion, she personifies SINAI’s core values, making her a perfect messenger for us. I look forward to partnering with her to build long-term relationships with community members of all backgrounds and ages.”

“I’m excited to bring the experience and skills I have garnered working with core Jewish communal philanthropies, including Friends of United Hatzalah, ORT America and UJA Federation of NY to SINAI,’ said Weiss. “I am inspired by SINAI leadership in special education and its service as an invaluable resource for the Jewish community.”

SINAI is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading Jewish schools for children with complex developmental and learning disabilities. SINAI currently serves more than 200 children, ages 5-21, in eight schools across the New Jersey/New York metropolitan area.

Our schools serve children with a wide range of disabilities, providing a unique, individualized program for every student, including highly specialized services, in-house therapies and a 1:1.2 professional-to-student ratio. SINAI is the only Jewish Special Education school that has met the rigorous standards required for accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

SINAI’s unique inclusion by design model—i.e., a “school within a school,” allows educators to thoughtfully design each child’s educational experience to maximize opportunities for social and academic inclusion. It also helps students at its partner schools discover that they can develop strong friendships with others who look, speak or learn differently than they do.

“Because of the intense staffing and many therapies we provide to meet the needs of our students, SINAI’s costs are extraordinarily high,” said Arielle Greenbaum Saposh, associate managing director. “We have been blessed since our inception, over 40 years ago, with broad community support because we have been recognized as a critical resource for the whole Jewish community. This generosity has been essential to making SINAI affordable to the families who need us. We are thrilled to have Tracy join our team to help ensure that we can continue to meet the growing needs of our community.”
