Sky Tactical: Selling and Transferring Firearms

Ruger EC9S

The expanding world of e-commerce has opened the door to many entrepreneurs looking for new avenues to further their financial success. Among them is Shloime Ascher, who co-founded H&A Product in 2014 alongside his brother-in-law.

Their online sales focused on all types of gear for hunting and camping. In 2019, with new branding, Ascher branched out on his own as the founder of Sky Tactical.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he expanded and introduced firearms sales to Sky Tactical. “It was always something I wanted to do,” Ascher explained. “We sell firearms nationwide but concentrate on New Jersey.” Sky Tactical holds a Federal Firearms License (FFL), allowing it to sell firearms and facilitate transfers for online purchases, which must be processed through an FFL before reaching the customer.

Ascher’s customers include judges, law enforcement, and law-abiding citizens of the state of New Jersey.

Although Sky Tactical primarily operates online, Ascher maintains a location in Hillside, New Jersey, ensuring he stocks popular items based on current demand. With a network of various distributors, he can quickly acquire almost any firearm not immediately available in-store.

Beyond the recreational side of the business, Sky Tactical is the byproduct of two Orthodox Jews who care deeply about the safety of their Jewish brothers and sisters. Ascher strongly believes in self-defense and in the freedom of Jewish American citizens exercising their Second Amendment rights. “Historically speaking, the Jewish people have taken a reluctant approach to owning a firearm,” he said. “Many of us have our ancestral roots deeply affected by the catastrophic effects of the Holocaust. Many Jews who felt passionate about firearms and self-defense played a huge role in the resistance, as well as the ability to protect their loved ones. While ultimately Hashem decides, we must do our part.”

This shift in perspective, especially since October 7, reflects a deeper commitment to personal security and preparedness. Ascher takes pride in the growing willingness within the Jewish community to embrace self-defense and ensure that more Jews are equipped to protect themselves and their families.
