Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County is a warm, inclusive Jewish day school that educates children from early childhood through eighth grade with a vigorous dual curriculum in general and Judaic studies. We inspire our students to be engaged, independent learners who embrace Jewish values and practices and strive with confidence and compassion to better the world.
Every day our students are engaged in inquiry-driven learning, focused around asking complex questions, creative problem-solving and collaboration, which promotes a nuanced understanding of subjects and a passion for learning through a multi-disciplinary integrated approach. At Schechter Bergen, the process of learning is as important as the content taught. We empower our students to become globally minded Jewish leaders, life-long learners and community minded problem solvers.
Schechter Bergen’s beautiful five and a half acre campus includes our state of the art Popkin Innovation Lab, newly renovated science labs, Kotek Holocaust Resource Center, Reggio-Emilia inspired Early Childhood Playground, Cushmaro Field of Dreams, and an organic teaching garden. Our teachers encourage deeper learning and stimulate critical thinking. They nurture strong relationships with each student, offering individualized attention and creating an environment of trust and growth in which students take ownership of their learning. Schechter Bergen is accredited by the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS).
You are invited to the Schechter Bergen Open House on Monday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m. Come and see the magic for yourself!
