The South of Cedar Lane Teaneck Community is organizing a team to run for Sharsheret at the Rubin Run (a run to support the JCC on the Palisades) on May 11, 2014. We have already begun to train for the race and are inspired to undertake this rigorous challenge in support of an amazing organization—Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization supporting Jewish women facing breast and ovarian cancer before, during, and after diagnosis.

It is particularly meaningful to race on behalf of Sharsheret because of the support it has provided to friends who were touched by breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Sharsheret is the only organization that provides vital culturally-relevant support. As we continually heard about the wonderful resource Sharsheret is for many friends and thousands of others locally and nationally, we wondered how to do more. How could we make a difference? By taking on this challenge and joining with the other members of Team Sharsheret we found an answer.
