Speakers Sought for American Jewish Experience Series

Do you have an interesting topic to share on Jewish history or culture?

The Jewish Historical Society of Central Jersey (JHSCJ) is seeking speakers for its 2019 American Jewish Experience lecture series. The series was started in the 1970s by the late historian and writer Ruth Patt and attracts audiences interested in learning about the people, places and events that have defined the Jewish experience.

Talks are held monthly at the Jewish Family Services office in Monroe Township and the Highland Park Conservative Temple. Speakers present their programs at both locations on two different days.

Lecture topics have included genealogy, Jewish entertainers and writers, immigration, Jews in science and other subjects relating to the American Jewish experience. Programs are one- to two-hours long and can be multimedia.

The JHSCJ was organized in 1977 and now serves Middlesex, Union, Somerset, Mercer, Warren, and Hunterdon counties. It is supported by the Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County, and is an affiliate of the American Jewish Historical Society.

To submit a topic for the lecture series, contact Leila Alterman at [email protected] or call 732-249-4894.
