Special People Help Those With Special Needs

Bruce Maier of AXA Advisors, who focuses on Financial Planning for Families of Special Needs, knows how to take that extra step.

On a recent Sunday, Maier hosted five special needs children with their families at a New York Knicks outing at Madison Square Garden. To ensure everyone’s comfort, Maier organized the trip to include box seating. Maier worked with Friendship Circle in Paramus, JESC of River Edge, and Yachad in Teaneck to help make the event a success.

In organizing this event, Maier hopes to raise awareness in the community so that others can think of meaningful ideas to support special needs families.

Said Maier: “Knowing that a live sporting event in a large arena can often be overwhelming for children with special needs, I wanted to do something to make this happen. The crowds, the noise, the elevators are all challenges to special needs families. Yet, the idea of being able to watch a live sporting event with their child could not have been more exciting.”
