Stabbing Attack in Jerusalem; Two Wounded

(Andrew Friedman/TPS) Three people were wounded in the Old City of Jerusalem Wednesday when a Palestinian man attacked police officers near Lions’ Gate. Police spokesmen said that two policemen were injured lightly, one of whom was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver. One was treated at the scene, while the second was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center.

“We saw a man, about 35-years-old, walking fully conscious with stab wounds to the upper body. We administered first aid at the scene and evacuated him to the hospital while continuing to treat him. His condition was light and stable. Passers-by in the area brought us a child from Eastern Jerusalem with a head injury. He said he’d been attacked by the terrorist. After administering first aid, we sent him to the hospital, too,” said Magen David Adom paramedics.

In addition, a 14-year-old boy was wounded, apparently by the terrorist, and evacuated to the hospital fully conscious and listed in moderate condition.

Security forces shot the terrorist, who was brought to the Hadassah University Hospital—Mt. Scopus emergency room in critical condition, and died during attempts to resuscitate him.
