On Thursday, March 11, the children of the Stein Yeshiva Early Childhood were treated to an extra special matzah baking program in honor of Pesach. Rabbi Sruli Deitsch, school parent and rabbi of the Chabad of Bronxville, led the special programming. With the gift of a beautiful warm today, the Matzah Factory was held entirely outdoors. The children learned about the different ingredients needed and even examined the wheat stalks and kernels up close! The children also learned the precise process of baking the matzah so that it is kosher for pesach—18 mns and not a moment more! With extra precautions taken to keep hands sanitized and social distancing maintained, the students were able to come up as volunteers. Once the dough was formed, the children enjoyed rolling the matzah dough flat. Mmmm, that baked matzah sure smelled delicious! The children can hardly wait to eat it over Pesach!
