Stein Yeshiva Explores Artist of the Month

Each month the four year olds at Stein Yeshiva explore an artist and their work. Having already “mastered” Van Gogh’s swirly technique in “Starry Night,” the children moved on to Monet. Monet’s “Waterlilies” tied in very nicely with Tu B’Shevat and the re-awakening of nature. Monet was one of the first artists to embrace nature. The children first observed the painting, discussed what type of work it is, the modality and colors used, and then investigated what type of techniques they needed to reproduce the painting. Each student put their individual imprint on the work producing unique creations.
