“Your A1-C will go down; your energy will go up; your waist size will shrink, your clothes will fit; or be too big.” The words of health and weight coach Steven Szklarz, during the initial consultation to explain the Sadkhin System, seem initially hollow and mundane. Every weight management plan boasts these claims. But Szklarz guarantees it. Not only does he guarantee results, but he backs it up with unlimited lifetime weight management support at no charge. Once a person has reached their goal, he provides free health maintenance counseling, for as long as a client wants it.
“When I was 26 years of age and with a young family, my primary care physician threatened he would have no choice but to put me on blood pressure and cholesterol medication, Szklarz shared. “I was tipping in at 295 pounds.” His doctor demanded a weight loss of 20 pounds within a month. “I gave him a 33-pound loss the first month and a total of 110 in six months, thanks to Sadkhin.”
Szklarz said that had been overweight since the age of 5 and tried almost every diet on the market as a young adult. “I heard about the Sadkhin method and decided to give it a chance. Wanting to help people in the same predicament, I opened my first office in Englewood, New Jersey about 20 years ago.”
Szklarz, via the Sadkhin method, focuses on improving and maintaining good health, rather than some of the mentally unhealthy body image marketing tactics often seen in typical diet programs. “My mission is not only to be able to help people with a tool to detox the body and lose weight, but also to help them transition to and maintain long-term healthy eating as a way of life. Once a patient reaches their target weight, whether losing 10, 20, 50 or 100 pounds, I stress that, just as important as using the program to detox and lose weight, is maintaining a diet that keeps it off. And I provide nutritional counseling, ongoing as a free service.”
What then makes Sadkhin different from other weight-management programs? Szklarz explained that Sadkhin is an all-natural, noninvasive detox/cleanse that combines acupressure with a carefully and sensibly regimented nutritional guide. “Acupressure is employed to detoxify fat around specific organs (stomach, liver, gallbladder, spleen and intestines) and to control hunger.” The acupressure targets each region and results in corresponding weight loss. “Stomach/liver will achieve a weight loss of 5-10% of a person’s weight. Intestines yield a 2% weight loss; gall-bladder/spleen reduces 4-7% of weight loss in 10 days. A 150-pound person is expected to be down 16-24 pounds in 30 days if guidelines are followed.”
There are no injections, no surgeries, and according to Szklar, no negative side effects. He summed up: “My Sadkhin weight-loss program advertises results that are typical and guaranteed. Other programs are simply diets or modified food plans.”
Szklarz shared some of the successes of the program.
“Two moderately overweight singles, a male and a female, came to my office a few weeks apart, and both having difficulty in the shidduch scene. They were each open to giving Sadkhin a try. They achieved their goals, and unbeknownst to me a few months later, got engaged.” He found out when he received an invitation to the engagement party. They had found each other and Szklarz later learned that one of their first topics to discuss was the Sadkhin program.
Szklarz revealed another success: “A gentleman in his 80s, a diabetic with failing kidneys, was referred to me by his physician. After four months he had lost 40 pounds, his insulin was reduced by half, his blood pressure medication was discontinued, his cholesterol numbers improved, and his kidney function improved from 15% to18%, eliminating the need for dialysis.”
Szklarz shared what means the most to him about doing this kind of work.
“I’m the president of your fan club. And having been a former patient, I personally understand the struggles with losing weight and the hardship of keeping it off. After I lost 100 pounds, there was no support. So my goal is to try my hardest to make everyone a success and keep them successful. That’s when we both win. The empathy for my patients has created treasured and enduring friendships. We often meet again at weddings.”
The Jewish Link directly received a testimonial from a recent patient.
Steven Szklarz and the Sadkhin program transformed my life. I lost 36 pounds in 93 days, which also included the three successive sets of three-day Yom Tovs. And four more even on the maintenance program.
I couldn’t be happier or feel better. My energy has been restored to a level I never thought possible. My clothes fit again. The aches and lethargy I felt … have evaporated. As a breast cancer survivor currently taking tamoxifen, the 40 pounds I gained since my two lumpectomies and radiation seemed like they were here to stay. I couldn’t make a dent in the weight gain no matter what I did, even though I’m a disciplined person who has successfully lost weight in the past. On top of breast cancer, I was now concerned about the added risk of diabetes and heart issues…
Steven Szklarz challenged me with the Sadkhin program; that I could and would succeed, despite tamoxifen and the challenges of middle age. I modified the plan slightly in order for everything to work while taking tamoxifen. With these modifications I lost what someone who was not taking tamoxifen would be expected to lose over the same period of time.
I guess I just have one word for you, if you are a middle-aged woman taking hormone therapy who feels like almost all hope is lost: Believe.”
