Stuffed Animals Sleep Over at Academies @ GBDS Library

On Motzei Shabbat of January 26, acclaimed children’s author Amalia Hoffman and her puppet Masha, joined for Academies @ GBDS first annual Stuffed Animal Sleepover. Children ages 2-8 came in their cozy pajamas and brought their stuffed animal that later slept over at the school’s library. Hoffman and her puppet shared “The Klezmer Bunch” with the children, who had so much fun meeting Masha and learning about the musicians in the story. The program started with Havdala ceremony led by Cantor Michelle Rubin from Montebello Jewish Center. Children enjoyed cookies and milk as bedtime snacks, took part in coloring activities and sang bedtime shema along with their stuffed animals. Through the night, families had the opportunity to follow stuffed animals who got into lots of mischief in the halls of the school on Instagram #GBDSlibrary. Families were able to pick up the stuffed animals on Monday. Thank you to Hoffman and Cantor Rubin for such a wonderful program!
