Livingston—The Synagogue of the Suburban Torah will be hosting scholar-in-residence Rabbi Dovid Bashevkin during the Shavuot weekend. He will be speaking over Shabbat as well as during the Tikkun Leil Shavuot and on the first day of Shavuot during davening. Director of Education for International NCSY, Rabbi Bashevkin received his smicha from YU and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Public Policy and Management at the New School’s Milano School of International Affairs.
Rabbi Bashevkin’s Shabbat talk—to take place immediately after Mussaf—will be “A New Perspective on an Old Custom: Breaking the Glass at a Wedding.” After mincha, he will speak again, this time discussing “Rabbi’s Son Syndrome: The Goal and Danger of Torah Study.” He will be the first speaker at 11:30pm—at the Tikkun Leil Shavuot on Saturday night, and will speak again at 10:30 on Sunday morning and again following mincha.
All are welcome to join the shul for any and all parts of this informative, educational and inspiring weekend, sponsored in memory of Mr. Morris Stadtmauer.
