In the world of podcasting, there’s no shortage of content. Pretty much any topic you can think of has a dedicated show or two—or hundreds. From true crime and self-help to niche hobbies and cultural deep dives, there’s something for everyone. But Jackie and Bracha noticed a void: a relatable, lighthearted podcast specifically for Jewish women. As avid podcast listeners themselves—not to mention best friends since they met in seminary—they decided to fill that gap. They created “Such a Good Call,” a podcast that blends humor, candid conversations and a sense of community.
“We felt there was a real need for something fun and lighthearted that also resonates with our experiences as Jewish women,” Jackie shared. “Most podcasts in the Jewish space are either very serious or hosted by men. We wanted to create a space where women could feel seen and heard, while also having a laugh.”
“Such a Good Call” launched earlier this year, offering listeners a weekly dose of relatable content—episodes are posted every Wednesday. From life as busy women to navigating Jewish holidays and everything in between, Jackie and Bracha’s discussions are down-to-earth, authentic, and often hilarious. Each episode is also dedicated to an October 7th hostage, sharing their story to honor their memory and raise awareness.
“I think what sets us apart is our dynamic,” Bracha said. “We’re real and don’t take ourselves too seriously. We want listeners to feel like they’re part of the conversation, laughing along with us.”
The duo’s chemistry is immediately evident in the episodes: Bracha is more extroverted while Jackie is introverted. Though opposites, the duo bounce off each other with witty banter. Fans have even taken to labeling themselves as “Such a Bracha” or “Such a Jackie.”
“Our listeners tell us they feel like they’re chatting with their best friends,” Jackie shared. “That’s exactly the vibe we want to create. We want to be a source of comfort, laughter and relatable content. Life can be overwhelming, and sometimes you need a little humor to get through the week.”
Since launching, “Such a Good Call” has grown into a dedicated community of over 1,000 weekly listeners. Fans tune in while driving, grocery shopping, or even during sleepless nights with newborns.
“The best part of doing this podcast is how much fun we have together,” Jackie said. “We both have busy lives, but when we record, it feels like a moment of connection and release. It’s our way of catching up, and we’re so happy we can share that with our listeners. That’s even where the name of the show came from: Our conversations feel like a ‘good call’ with a best friend.”
Jackie and Bracha also share a post-Shabbat newsletter, host a “Simcha Segment” where listeners can celebrate milestones, and even run a shidduch initiative to help connect singles. They’ve also launched a merchandise line that has been an unexpected hit.
“At first, we thought only our moms would buy it,” Bracha joked. “But the response has been amazing—it’s just another way for our listeners to feel like they’re part of the community.”
Looking ahead, Jackie and Bracha hope to expand the podcast’s reach, potentially even hosting in-person events.
“The sky’s the limit,” Jackie shared. “We’re continually blown away by the reception we’ve had, and have so many ideas for where to take things. What will stay the same, though, is our commitment to keeping the podcast authentic. That’s what brought us here, and it’s what keeps our listeners coming back each week.”
Both Bracha and Jackie agree that the community they’ve built has been the most rewarding part of their journey. Hearing from listeners who feel a deep connection to the podcast and describe it as a source of comfort is truly motivational for the duo.
“We’ve built this space where women feel heard, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of,” Bracha went on to say. “Jewish women carry so much on their plates—they deserve a place to unwind, laugh, and feel connected. We love hearing from listeners who say they feel less alone or look forward to our episodes every week. It’s what keeps us going.”
