Summer Simchas: Simple Expert Tips For a Stunning Summer Glow

(BPT) Didn’t have a chance to get a sun-kissed look while on vacation this spring? No problem. It doesn’t take hours at the salon or lying in the sun to add radiance to your look. With a few expert hair and makeup tips, you’ll be summer-ready in a few simple steps.

EcoTools Beauty team members and expert stylists Christine Symonds and Teni Panosian crafted a makeup and hair look that you can easily create at home using the right tools.

“This season’s makeup trends are all about a natural summer glow,” says Panosian, a YouTube beauty sensation and the voice behind MissMaven.com. “Whether you’ve been in the office all day or catching waves by the shore, try this fresh makeup application that will take you from day to night.”

Summer Glow Makeup

Step 1. Begin by applying your SPF cream of choice. It’s important to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.

Step 2. Using a stippling brush, apply a lightweight foundation. This will be the starting base for your bronze glow, and its duo-fiber bristles help to build sheer coverage.

Step 3. Apply your favorite concealer under your eyes and over any spots you want to conceal, then blend out using the stippling brush for a seamless, natural finish.

Step 4. Now it’s fine to add that sun-kissed glow! Pick up your EcoTools Angled Kabuki Brush and dip it into your bronzer. It’s best to use a bronzer with a bit of shimmer to get that extra radiant look. Start applying around your hairline, and then sculpt your cheeks and lightly swipe all over for an even finish. The large brush head allows for quick and natural application.

Step 5. Next, grab a tapered brush and apply a bright peach blush to the apples of your cheeks. Make sure to blend evenly with the bronzer you’ve already applied.

Step 6. For the eyes, all you’ll need is a flat eye shading and fluffy eye blending brush. Dip the flat brush in the bronzer you used for your face and place this color all over your eyelids.

Step 7. Next, using the fluffy blending brush, apply a dark brown matte shadow to the outer corners of the eyes to give them a little more dimension.

Step 8. For more definition, use an angled liner brush to apply black gel eyeliner to the lash line to slightly darken it up.

Step 9. Apply one to two coats of your favorite mascara.

Step 10. Take a sheer peachy nude lip gloss and dab it on your lips for a natural, glossy appearance.

“Pull your entire look together with an easy breezy hairstyle,” says celebrity hairstylist Symonds. “My beautifully twisted style complements your brilliant face while keeping your hair out of the way in the heat.”

Playful Summer Hair Twists

Step 1. Blow dry your hair for body and movement and part in your desired area.

Step 2. Grab a 3-inch section of hair on one side of the part and split it in two. Twist the 2 sections around each other tightly until you reach the ends and secure with a hair tie. Once you release the twist, it will loosen but not unwind completely.

Step 3. Grab another 3-inch section next to the first twist, create another twist and secure with a hair tie.

Step 4. Repeat steps two and three on the other side of your part.

Step 5. Lift the crown of your hair and backcomb lightly underneath with a smoothing detangler brush. This will create volume so the bobby pins have texture to grip onto.

Step 6. One by one, secure the twists to the back of your head with bobby pins. Overlap the sections for a finished look.

Step 7. Complete the look by removing the hair ties and pulling out any front pieces if desired.
