Support Yoetzet Halacha Program of Fair Lawn at Ladies’ Boutique

(Courtesy of Congregation Darchei Noam) Fair Lawn has become a booming Jewish community over the past several years, with many young families moving to the local apartments and buying homes throughout the community. Both as a result of the growth and as a catalyst to continued growth, Congregation Darchei Noam recognized a strong and important need to start the yoetzet halacha program, which is aimed at aiding its membership as well as the broader Jewish community. The program was spearheaded by Shira Donath, rebbetzin of Congregation Darchei Noam and a Nishmat-certified yoetzet halacha.

The goals of the yoetzet halacha program are:

To encourage women to feel comfortable asking all their questions related to the laws of Jewish family life in a way that helps them share relevant details to have their question appropriately answered.

To provide education through shiurim, lectures and one-on-one phone calls so that women understand both the halachot and the medical background to their experiences, making them better equipped to ask the appropriate questions.

To engender positive feelings about the laws of taharat hamishpacha and how the halachic system works so that couples can observe these laws with greater commitment and less resentment.

While many people take classes prior to marriage to learn about the laws of taharat hamishpacha, it is beneficial to have supportive, ongoing shiurim, as well as the guidance of the yoetzet halacha, to maintain observance of these laws. The next Yoetzet Halacha Program of Fair Lawn event is a ladies’ boutique on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Congregation Darchei Noam, 10-04 Alexander Avenue, Fair Lawn. Proceeds from the event will help to enable continued programming designed to support and engage the women in the community.

To purchase a gift certificate, become a sponsor or for more information regarding the boutique, go to www.darcheinoam.com/event/ladies-boutique or contact Aliza Strassman at 412-310-2934.
