After mulling over numerous possible reactions to Rich Siegel’s anti-Israel rant and obscene Auschwitz comparison to your ingenious Purim satire issue (“Purim Satire ‘News’ Was in Bad Taste” March 4, 2021), what ultimately came to mind was a saying I’ve seen on a whimsical plaque: “Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time, and annoys the pig.”

Siegel claims that he and his “friends” read the Link from cover to cover. I’m happy to hear that. In a few weeks, we’ll all be able to enjoy the pages of pictures in the “Schools” section, of our beautiful day school children of all ages dressed in blue and white and proudly celebrating Israel’s 73rd birthday. Enjoy, Rich.

Finally, the first thing I did after Havdala a few minutes ago, was to log on to the FIDF (Friends of the Israel Defense Forces) website and make a donation. What better way to support the forces of good against Siegel’s evil than to support an organization devoted to the welfare of our brave young men and women of the IDF who protect not only Israel, but worldwide Jewry.
