Frisch held a powerful Yom HaShoah program last Thursday attended by the entire student body. Dr. Moshe Avital, a survivor, author and well-renowned speaker, shared his experience before, during and after the Holocaust. After he spoke movingly, students helped light six memorial candles, and Rabbi Jonathan Schachter recited Kel Malei Rachamim. A very meaningful school-wide mincha followed the program.
The theme of the program was L’dor v’Dor, From Generation to Generation, in special recognition of the fact that Frisch students—and all teenagers today—are the last generation to be privileged to hear firsthand testimony and learn directly from survivors. Rabbi Ciner implored students to realize the urgency of their roles, and tasked them with the mandate to remember and spread what they learn to the next generation after them.
