TABC alum Isaac Shapiro ‘19, currently in shana bet at Mevaseret, took the top prize in Lander College’s 14th annual Bekiyus Blitz, winning a full set of Mossad Harav Kook’s Chidushei Ritva and accolades for his stellar performance. Additionally, alumni Shlomi Helfgot ‘18 (Gush), Avrumi Davis ‘19 (KBY) and Moshe Davis ‘17 (KBY) all finished in the top 10, each winning a set of Shas. First-place winner Shapiro gave a vort on Zoom to an audience that included Rav Yonasan Saks, rosh yeshiva at Lander (an honor given to the first place finisher). The annual Gemara contest takes place in Israel the week before Purim. Year after year, TABC alumni are top performers in the competition.
