TABC Hockey Unveils Championship Banner

(TABC) The TABC hockey program unveiled its newest banner on Thursday night, November 9, in honor of last season’s JV championship squad. Prior to the banner raising, the varsity team played host to the Ohr Yisroel Flames. Ohr Yisroel looked competitive for a good chunk of the first period. Junior Yonatan Brothman eventually broke the deadlock and senior Shay Fields then tacked on a few goals off rebounds. The Storm were up 3-0 at the end of one. Junior Aiden Rauzman scored only four seconds into the second period and added another goal a few minutes afterwards off a great feed from linemate and classmate Bentzion Keiser. Captain Matis Krause ’24 had several assists on the night and a terrific power play goal. The Storm won in dominating fashion by a score of 11-0. After the game, last year’s MVPs from the JV championship, Rauzman and Shia Forgash ’25, unveiled the championship banner for the home crowd. Then the puck dropped for the JV team’s game against the Rambam Ravens which they won easily 8-0. Freshman Marty Teitelbaum assisted on the game’s first two goals, to freshman Dovid Ratzersdorfer and sophomore Daniel Kurz respectively. Sophomore Binyamin Cornick added another before the period ended and sophomore Shlomo Wenger scored only 14 seconds into the second period to effectively put the game on ice. It was a great night seeing everyone on both teams get an opportunity to play significant minutes and prove their value on the court.

TABC Varsity Basketball Extinguishes Hillel Heat in Season Opener

(TABC) The TABC varsity basketball team returned from the Cooper Invitational in Memphis to kick off their MYHSAL season against the Hillel Heat in Deal, New Jersey on Tuesday, November 7. The team, known for their slow starts in games, was once again slow to heat up and found themselves down early. Junior Eyal Kinderlehrer scored the team’s first seven points of the game and after a Charlie Simmons ’24 triple and Dovid Saks ’25 jumper, the Storm never looked back. Still, at halftime, Coach Oz was clear he wanted to see more effort and a better performance despite the team having a big lead. Senior Ayden Gurin heated up in the second half and the Storm began to look like the dominant team everyone feared they would be in the pre-season. The Storm won by 25 and Simmons led all scorers with 17 points.
