TABC Breakfast to Honor Rachel Friedman and Suzy Schwartz

On the morning of June 15th, 2014, Torah Academy of Bergen County (TABC) will be holding its 9th Annual Scholarship Breakfast, honoring Mrs. Rachel Friedman and Mrs. Suzy Schwartz. The event will take place at TABC, 1600 Queen Anne Road, Teaneck, NJ beginning at 9:30am.

The Annual Scholarship Breakfast is an opportunity for TABC parents and the larger community to take part in helping to ensure that TABC has the necessary resources to provide an exceptional Judaic and general studies education to its students regardless of financial ability. Please join us in this endeavor, and help us show our appreciation to Rachel and Suzy, two remarkable individuals, and thank them for their dedicated service to our Yeshiva.

Rachel Friedman is a noted teacher, author and lecturer in the areas of Bible and Jewish liturgy. She is Associate Dean and Chair of Tanach Studies at the Drisha Institute for Jewish Education in New York City. She is also the founding Dean of Lamdeinu, a new center for Jewish learning that will open this summer in Teaneck. Mrs. Friedman has served as scholar-in-residence at synagogues and educational institutions throughout the United States and abroad. She has an MA in Bible from the Bernard Revel Graduate School at Yeshiva University and a JD from Columbia University School of Law. She served for four years as chair of the TABC Education Committee. Rachel and her husband, Allen, are the proud parents of Elie, Nava and Yosie (‘11).

Suzy Schwartz has been a member of TABC’s Board since 2008 and a member of the executive board since 2009. She came to TABC after serving on the boards of Congregation Rinat Yisrael and Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School for Girls, in addition to many years of service on both the board and executive board of the Moriah School. She has brought professionalism and expertise from her extensive career in corporate advertising, as well as experience in the non-profit world from her most recent position at Yeshiva University’s Center for the Jewish Future. Suzy has been involved in many TABC committees over the years, and always brings energy, optimism, wisdom and a sense of balance to the conversation. Suzy and her husband, Will, live in Teaneck with their four children; Racheli, Sammy (‘11), Yoni (‘14) and Tamar.

Please join us in honoring these two wonderful individuals, and ensuring that TABC has the scholarship funds it needs to continue to be a Yeshiva High School of excellence for all bnei torah in our community for many years to come.
