TABC Celebrates With Record-Breaking Annual Dinner

“Feel the warmth.” Anyone who has had the opportunity to spend some time in TABC is immediately struck by the warmth that permeates the building. The relationships between faculty and students, and internally between students of all grades, is something very unique and special about the yeshiva. This year’s TABC dinner celebrated that theme, as 570 people were able to experience a microcosm of that daily warmth. The attendees represented a cross section of current parents, alumni, alumni parents, faculty, the school’s seniors, guests of the honorees and members of the greater community.

The dinner successfully raised nearly half a million dollars, critical support which enables TABC to offer an outstanding academic program, recruit and support a top-notch faculty, maintain a state-of-the-art facility and offer a diverse athletics and extracurricular activities program. With over $1 million in scholarships awarded each year, donations to TABC help ensure that these opportunities are accessible to all.

Guests of Honor were Renée and Chaim Fromowitz, proud parents of Noam ‘14 and Ariel ‘16. Chaim serves as the TABC treasurer and has helped manage and maintain the school’s finances, while Renée has served the school in many volunteer roles. The Faculty Recognition Award was given to Rav Sariel Malitzky, a beloved rebbe and TABC associate director of recruitment. Yehuda Shmidman ‘99, the CEO of Sequential Brands Group, received the Alumni Tribute Award. The Community Service Presentation went to Nachum and Staci Segal, proud parents of Binyamin ‘10, Yosef ‘16 and Yehoshua ‘16. Nachum is renowned for his role on JM in the AM and is a steadfast advocate for TABC; Staci has served on the TABC board and education committee. Each honoree was recognized with a wonderful tribute video, followed by a personalized and moving presentation from Rabbi Adler, TABC rosh hayeshiva. The final video “TABC: A School of Communities,” depicted how TABC has become a yeshiva that represents the greater NY/NJ area, with talmidim from as far as Highland Park to the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The combination of the myriad communities that TABC’s students come from helps create a rich, multi-faceted tapestry that is the TABC community. The video afforded many of the talmidim the opportunity to express how they feel part of the TABC family and how their distance from home in no way impedes their participating in all the activities in their home away from home.

The dinner concluded with a beautiful kumzitz led by Eitan Katz. Seniors, alumni, parents and faculty all joined together with tremendous ruach as the perfect end to a wonderful evening. The very successful dinner was led by Dinner Chairs Elizabeth Naor and Miriam Lightman and their very capable and creative committee. Videos and photos of the dinner may be viewed by visiting tabc.org/dinner.
