At TABC, the Chanukah celebrations ran throughout the week.
On Monday and Tuesday, although school was closed, TABC’s halls were buzzing with the sounds of students who had gathered for Shacharit, breakfast and shiurim by Rabbi Adler and Rabbi Fridman. Also on Monday, Rabbi Nachbar and Rabbi Fridman welcomed their talmidim into their homes for Chanukah mesibot, which enhanced rebbe-talmid bonds, as well as those between the students.
When school resumed on Wednesday, everyone was excited to buy their raffle tickets for the annual student council auction, which was to take place later that day. That afternoon, the whole school gathered for Mincha in the beit knesset, followed by the pulling of the raffle winners and the live auction. The room was hopping as the students excitedly bid on such items as a two tickets to Broadway with Mr. Vahedi, a Yankees game for three with Rabbi Adler and more.
Thursday was another exciting day. The freshman and sophomore rebbeim hosted celebratory breakfasts. Those who live locally brought their talmidim into their homes, welcoming them with open arms. The rebbeim who live a little farther away hosted them at local restaurants, enjoying the camaraderie that comes with a shared meal. The juniors and seniors gathered to daven Mincha together, followed by a chagiga filled with music, dancing, simchat hayom and lively ruach! The room was shaking with the excitement of Chanukah!
