TABC Delegation Embarks on Chesed Mission to South Jersey

Twelve TABC juniors travelled to South Jersey on a two-day chesed trip led by Rabbi Scott Friedman and Rabbi Jonathan Kessel. They met early Sunday morning for Shacharit and then headed to the Jewish Relief Agency in Philadelphia to pack food packages at their headquarters. They then delivered those packages to elderly residents of an assisted-living apartment complex. After lunch on the road, the group stopped by the Inglis House to visit the residents of this special parapalegic home. They heard from Tye, a parapalegic man, who inspired the boys and encouraged them to appreciate every day and enjoy the senses and abilities Hashem blessed them with.

The group then departed for the Philadelphia Yeshiva for Mincha and a private schmooze with Rosh Yeshiva Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky. After the drive to the hotel in Long Branch, the group enjoyed swimming and dinner at the Crispy Grill. Monday got off to an exciting start at the Roberts Shul and breakfast at Four Corners Kosher Bagel & Cafe in Lakewood. The students helped at Bikur Cholim of Lakewood and visited and played gaga with the students at the SCHI school (School for Children with Hidden Intelligence). After a trip to Beth Medrash Govoha (BMG), with a shiur from Rav Olshin, and Mincha, the group volunteered at the Special Children’s Center in Lakewood where they danced and interacted with the kids. Finally, following a quick stop at Judaica Plaza, the boys headed back to TABC, energized and inspired by a jam-packed and meaningful two days.
