TABC freshmen in “Digital Dov” Katz’s media and advertising elective participated in a game show to close out the year. Over the course of the year, the students focused on how advertising and the coverage of major news events influence their lives and the world they live in. In addition to being fun, the students all learned a tremendous amount about history, current events and the role that media plays in people’s everyday lives.
Meanwhile, Rebecca Lopkin’s freshman public speaking students presented their final projects this week. Students were tasked with inventing a brand new Jewish high school. They were asked to conceive of a name, logo and website for their school and imagine the school culture, academics, co-curricular activities and create a mission statement. Then, of course, they had to present it compellingly to their classmates. It was great hearing the students’ ideas about high school and watching them implement the skills they’ve accrued over the year.
