TABC Engineers Play Shark Tank

Mr. Tiefenbrunn’s senior engineering class presented their midterm projects this week in a Shark Tank-style competition. The senior presenters pitched their inventions to a panel of judges (the “investors”) and went through the conceptualization, design and implementation of their innovations before pitching their marketing plan and expected profits. Some of the unique presentations included an automated mop, a toy car controlled by a smartphone app and, the winner, Keven the Shtender, a unique mobile cart with sensors perfect for on-the-go learning! The students all started from the same basic foundation—a small programmable vehicle—and were encouraged to think about how they could take that simple concept and make it a fully realized product idea. They utilized sensors, 3D printing, Bluetooth functionality and many other concepts covered in class as they brought their projects to life. According to Tiefenbrunn, “I couldn’t be more proud of the work they did, the confidence they showed in presenting and the pride they took in their creations.”
