The weekend of October 13-14, TABC’s 10th-12th grade enjoyed TABC’s annual Welcome Back Shabbaton. While it wasn’t the shabbaton TABC had planned for over the summer, the timing of the shabbaton offered the opportunity to come together as a school community during this difficult time. Thursday night started with a special learning program at TABC and participation in the RCBC-sponsored “Gathering of Achdut, Tefillah and Chizuk.” The event set the perfect tone for the shabbaton, whose theme was achdut and appreciation of the concept of עמו אנכי בצרה, feeling the pain and empathizing with Jews across the world.

After arrival at a chilly Camp Romimu, students enjoyed grade vs. grade activities and a late night dinner. Some of the highlights of Friday included a carnival, go-karts, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament and full access to the beautiful campus and top-notch sports facilities. Throughout Shabbat, there was built-in time to learn Mishnayot as part of TABC’s school-wide ש”ס משניות siyum in memory of the over 1400 Jews who were slaughtered on Simchat Torah. The uplifting tefillah, engaging learning sessions, delicious food and memorable bonding came together to make a memorable weekend for TABC’s students who returned Saturday night inspired and energized for the continuation of a great school year.
