Rebecca Lopkin’s ninth grade speech class is launching a unique PBL (Project Based Learning) venture entitled TABC Newsroom. The class was divided into four groups, with one member of each group appointed anchor and the others serving as reporters. Students then chose what type of reporter they wanted to be: sports, entertainment, Torah, cooking, current events, weather and more. The students are working collaboratively to write and edit their news stories and will eventually craft the script, create a logo, title and virtual background for their shows. They will rehearse and, of course, deliver their broadcasts in appropriate costumes. They are looking forward to debuting their shows on the school WhatsApp for all to enjoy!
