TABC’s new freshman elective, Video/Media/Broadcasting (VMB), got off to a running start this week! The course, created and designed by co-teachers Rebecca Lopkin and Dov Katz is a planned four year course sequence in TABC’s new state-of-the-art studio. Students will develop competencies such as scriptwriting, storyboarding, basic camera functions, shot compositions, shot moves, tripod setup and audio recording. They will also study media consumption as they gain a firm understanding of the history of television and mass media. Students will explore broadcasting, including news, sports and entertainment, both on camera and in podcast formats and will also grow to appreciate the power of social media while learning to create a successful campaign. VMB joins a host of elective options available to TABC students from engineering to music to graphic design and more.
