This past Saturday night saw the championship games for the 2016 fall session of TABC Jr hockey league. In the first game the junior Maple Leafs swallowed the Rangers 13-2. Playoff MVP Shay Fields was dominant, scoring four goals and dishing out two assists. Izzy Bromberg chipped in with three goals while Abbie Fields and Gilad Jutkowitz had strong games for the Maple Leafs. Judah Greenberger was awarded regular season MVP. Shay fields won breakout player. Rory Stamler won most improved player. Shai Sabo won the sportsmanship award.
The first team all stars were Max Schachter, David Rosen, Yishaya Perlman and William Gollender. The second team all stars were Abie Fields, Moshe Nadritch, Ezra Alter and Eyal Kinderlehrer.
The senior division brought an incredibly exciting game. The Redwings jumped out to a 5-1 second period lead on three goals by Sariel Rotblat and goals by Ethan Alter and playoff MVP Gabriel Hornblass, but the Stars chipped away. Elisha Alter netted a goal and Jacob Borenstein netted two to close the game to 5-4 with just three minutes left. The last few minutes were played in the Redwing’s zone but goalie Andy Rosenberg stood tall and held the Stars off to earn the 5-4 win. Congratulations on an undefeated season. Jonah Gerson was awarded regular season MVP. Zachary Gibber won breakout player. Chaim Mermelstein was awarded most improved player. JJ Feit won the sportsmanship award.
The winter 2017 season will kick off in early February.
