TABC JV Hockey Advance To Championship

The TABC JV Storm completely dismantled the visiting SAR Sting with a commanding 6-1 victory Wednesday night at the Weather Center.

The Storm had SAR on the ropes from the opening face-off forcing them to take multiple penalties leading to  a season-high four power play goals, two each by Shua Naor (’16) and Daniel Levy (’16). The Storm opened the scoring midway through the first on a power play blast by Shua Naor (’16) off a precision cross-court feed by Ari Fuchs (’16). Seconds later, it was Eitan Schneier (’16) scoring his first ever playoff goal.

In the second period, Fuchs and Naor pulled off the exact same play, with Naor blasting home the power play goal for a 3-0 lead. This was quickly followed by freshman Zachary Rothenberg’s (’17) first-ever playoff goal off a beautiful feed from Daniel Levy (’16). Late in the second period, SAR finally broke TABC’s stellar backchecking and Shua Beilin’s (’16) stalwart goaltending, but it was too little, too late.

TABC spent a good portion of the third period on the power play, as SAR struggled to keep pace with the Storm. Levy converted on two of those power plays, with two more assists for Fuchs to close out the scoring.

For Coach Norm Blumenthal it will be his sixth straight trip to Lawrence Middle School, where he and the JV Storm will be looking to win an unprecedented sixth straight championship when they face Rambam on March 23rd. Here’s wishing best of luck to the Varsity in their semifinal against HAFTR Monday evening at TABC, as they attempt to join the JV in the “trip to the ‘ship”!
