The TABC JV softball team has started off the season with three straight wins. After giving up four runs in the first inning against Hillel in the Storms’ first game of the season, the team came back strong scoring six runs over four innings to capture its first win. Great pitching by freshman Ari Smith, and strong hitting by freshmen Elan Goldstein and Ezra Kopstick helped the team grab its first win. Next, the team played a double header against MTA this past Monday. Despite chilly temperatures and a little drizzle TABC started off well, and quickly took a 2-0 lead. After some spectacular defense by the Storm, including catches by sophomores Ezra Seplowitz and Eli Zeigler, the team came out swinging and quickly jumped out to a 9-0 lead, with a final score of 10-1. In the second game of the double header, freshman AJ Zimbalist started off pitching, and held MTA to one run over three innings. Catcher freshman Yair Konigsberg made two plays at home, which helped ensure MTA did not score more. After some additional runs, including hits by Goldstein and freshman Benzion Rotblat, the Storm completed the two game sweep by winning 6-1.
The team is excited to continue its winning streak as it will take on Frisch, SAR and JEC in its final three games.
