The JV softball team came out victorious over SAR 6-3 in their playoff opener at Sagamore to advance to the semifinals. The Storm were out for revenge against the Sting after they had lost to them in heartbreaking fashion in the regular season. TABC was already in a hole to kick off the game, being down 2-0 after two innings. Going into the bottom of the fifth and still trailing 2-1, the Storm hitters came out guns blazing. Sophomore Eitan Mermelstein led off with a triple, freshman Noah Beckoff hit in the game tying and leading runs and it was all Storm from there on out with sophomore Elan Goldstein hitting a solo homer for insurance. Sophomore Ari Smith was on fire from the mound, fanning nine batters, including getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the top of the sixth when TABC was only up by three. The team now has a short layoff before they go to Brooklyn to take on the YDE Thunder in the semis.
