TABC Late Night Learning Goes ‘On the Road’

The Sefer Hachinuch says that one can fulfill the mitzvah of writing a sefer Torah by buying sefarim. TABC’s talmidim fulfilled that mandate when they visited the YU sefarim sale as part of their “on the road” late night learning. The group began their visit to Yeshiva University with a delicious shawarma dinner from Golan Heights. They then heard a shiur from YU Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Simon about Purim being the time of accepting the Torah She’bealpeh. This was followed by a shiur by Rabbi Aharon Ciment, the rabbi of Congregation Arzei Darom in Teaneck, who spoke about eved ivri (from last week’s parsha) and the significance of his actions. Both rabbanim commented on the impressive knowledge of Torah, as well as the excitement for Torah, that the talmidim exhibited throughout the night. The night concluded with a visit to the sefarim sale. The late night learning was dedicated in memory of Ilan Tokayer ‘03 z’l.
