TABC Leads Chesed Mission to Columbia, South Carolina

On Sunday Night, November 18, eight TABC students were led by Rabbi Jonathan Kessel and Rabbi Ezra Stone on a chesed mission to Columbia, South Carolina. Though they landed late at night, they eagerly awoke early in the morning to meet the crew from SBP, a national disaster relief organization, to finish renovation on a house that was severely damaged by the floods of 2015. The boys painted the walls, put up screening, scraped the windows and even finished a ceiling. They also got to see how Jews in South Carolina live by enjoying the only kosher restaurant in downtown Columbia as well as bowling at The Grand. Before they departed, they visited the famous Riverwalk Zoo, home to a variety of endangered species and other interesting animals. The boys arrived home late Tuesday night, exhausted but uplifted.
