On Monday, December 25, TABC held a parent-son yom iyun entitled “Deepening our Tefilah; Deepening Ourselves.” After a gala breakfast, parents and students enjoyed two rounds of concurrent break-out sessions run by TABC rebbeim followed by a keynote address by the renowned Rabbi Menachem Penner, the newly appointed executive vice president of the RCA and longtime dean of RIETS. Rabbi Penner spoke about why Tehillim is the book we turn to in times of need and the wonder and amazement that we should feel as we hold the actual words of David Hamelech in our hands. Rabbi Penner encouraged everyone to remember that when reciting Tehillim we are approaching Hashem with Dovid Hamelech. The building was buzzing with the harmonious sounds of parents and sons learning together and delving into the power of prayer. It was a meaningful morning, especially during these trying times for Am Yisrael.
