Last week, TABC competed in YU’s 26th annual Model UN conference with over 450 students from 45 other schools. The TABC delegation of 13, representing the countries of Iran and Japan, took home a total of three awards:
Avi Cooper ‘17 received Honorable Mention and Ezra Zinberg ‘16 and Zev Jarashow ‘16 received Best Delegate. The delegation placed first among all New Jersey schools and fifth overall. The TABC team showed a mastery of public speaking, research and derech eretz throughout the entire conference.
TABC’s pride was compounded by the numerous alumni who took on leadership roles at YUNMUN. Shai Berman ‘10 and Ariel Hochman ‘13 were the Committee on Drugs and Crime chairpersons; Avi Straus ‘12 was Undersecretary General; Akiva Marder ‘13 was chair of the World Food Program Committee; Etan Bardash ‘12 served as Assistant Chair on the Committee for the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space; Noam Safier ‘12 was the Assistant Chair of the Committee on Science and Technology for Development; Ari Hagler ‘12 ran the entire Media and Computer Center for the Conference and had assistance in the Media Center from Binyamin Zirman ‘13 and Yehoshua Zirman ‘14.
