TABC Returning Students Enjoy Welcome Back Shabbaton

TABC’s annual Welcome Back Shabbaton took place on Shabbat Shuva as sophomores, juniors and seniors descended on Camp Dora Golding for a memorable weekend. The shabbaton began with Maariv and a delicious Tzom Gedalia break fast on Thursday night before students loaded the buses for Kalahari, the largest indoor waterpark in the northeast. With exclusive use of the park, students enjoyed splashing, swimming and sliding and were treated to some late night Chickies to refuel. Friday began with davening and selichot and continued with sports, swimming, boating, hiking and more, as students and faculty alike took advantage of the beautiful weather and gorgeous grounds. Over the course of Shabbat, various rebbeim gave drashot and interactive shiurim on the theme of teshuva and all were inspired as Shabbat concluded with a kumzitz and musical Havdala. The boys enjoyed a melava malka (featuring pizza and ice cream) before loading the buses back home to TABC. This coming week, the freshmen get their turn for some off-campus fun as they head out for the traditional “Freshman Chill,” a day of adventure and bonding with their classmates.
