Seniors in TABC’s Holocaust Studies elective took a trip to the Legacy Heritage Museum in Battery Park city last Thursday, October 12. The students received a guided tour through the timeline of exhibits which tracks the origin of antisemitism through the liberation of the concentration camps. Students also had the opportunity to hear from Lisa Baer, a Holocaust survivor, whose family lived through Kristallnacht, and eventually immigrated to the United States. The outing was especially poignant just days after the horrific events of Simchat Torah which saw the worst slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. In 2023, the lessons of the past are unfortunately as relevant as ever.
