TABC seniors in the senior film course had a chance to hear from—and ask questions of—noted film critic Peter Rainer, Wednesday morning, February 26. Rainer has reviewed movies for the Los Angeles Times, the Christian Science Monitor and New York Magazine, among others. He is also the author of a book about the movie industry, “Rainer on Film, Thirty Years of Film Writing in a Turbulent and Transformative Era.” Rainer spoke from his home in Los Angeles, California, to the TABC students via Facetime. Rainer discussed his experiences as a film critic and what the objectives of film critics are when they write reviews. He then answered questions from the students. The session was very well-received and both useful and enjoyable for all.
