The Flatbush Falcons recently traveled to Teaneck to take on the TABC Storm. TABC scored immediately on a goal from Akiva Hain, assisted by Avraham Gellman. Throughout the duration of the period, TABC was firing shots at the Flatbush goalie, to no avail. The period ended with TABC maintaining the 1-0 lead.
TABC came out flying to start the second period, scoring a goal within the first ten seconds, Gellman assisted by Hain. TABC continued to bombard Flatbush with shots, but the goalie stood tall. TABC fended off some Flatbush chances to keep the 2-0 lead after two.
To begin the third period, the play was more or less even, with chances going both ways. Avinoam Wizman scored on an assist by Ben Englander two and a half minutes into the third. Play continued to favor TABC and with five and a half minutes remaining, Eli Schiff found the back of the net, with much help from Eli Spinowitz. With about two and a half minutes remaining, Flatbush finally broke through to end Charles Gibber’s shutout bid, with a jam-in goal. TABC staved off some good Flatbush opportunities to close the door on the 4-1 win.
Stellar defense by ET Dubin, Andy Katz, Yechiel Keiser and Yonatan Naor helped Gibber get the win. TABC now faces HAFTR in the semi-finals.
