TABC Storm Varsity Hockey Defeat Ramaz, Advance to Semis

Thursday night February 25, the TABC Storm hosted the Ramaz Rams in the varsity hockey quarterfinals. Fans piled in from both sides for this highly anticipated game. The game got off to a quick start with TABC finding themselves on a 4-on-2, and as Ramaz killed off the first penalty, Calev Minsky netted a power play goal. Then, Yair Knoller found Ari Fuchs, who blasted a shot from the point past the Ramaz goalie. Later in the first quarter, TABC was on the penalty kill and Fuchs made an unbelievable move followed by a spectacular finish, giving TABC a 3-0 lead. The Storm took the momentum into the second period with Daniel Levy rushing in on a 3-on-3, making a beautiful set of moves followed by a deke that got him past the goalie where he put the ball in the back of the net.

Soon after, Minsky ripped in his second of the night to bring the score to 5-0. In the 3rd, Jonah Ganchrow found Zach Rothenberg in front of the net and Rothenberg buried the ball; this gave TABC the 6-goal lead. On the same shift, Ganchrow also found the back of the net to increase the lead to 7. With the score at 7-0, Ramaz scored two goals making the final 7-2. Spectacular goaltending was demonstrated by senior Shua Beilin. TABC will host Frisch in the semifinals on March 7.
