On Sunday, October 25, six members of TABC’s Math League participated in Yale University’s online math competition. Yale hosts the MMATHS high school competition on a Saturday each spring, and the Yale Hillel re-runs an identical competition the next day for Yeshiva high schools across the country. Though the competition was cancelled last spring because of COVID-19, it was rescheduled for the end of October as a virtual competition. Seniors David Berger, Ezra Baron and Levi Langer; juniors Shimshy Gordon and Gavi Kigner; and sophomore Kivi Davis spent four hours of their Sunday competing as a team, individually, and in a mixer round with other schools.
Congratulations to Levi Langer ‘21 who made it to the tiebreaker round in the individual competition and to Shimshy Gordon ‘22 and Kivi Davis ‘23, whose team took first place in the mixer round. TABC’s star “mathletes” hope to be able to travel to Yale in person for the competition this coming spring!
