Congratulations to TABC’s Kohelet Hackathon team (Yehuda Harris ‘25, David Benisz ‘24, Amitai Macklin ‘24, Ilan Nissel ‘24 and Alex Weinberg ‘24) on winning second place at this year’s Kohelet Hackathon! “KoHack” is the first North American Yeshiva High School Coding competition and takes place annually at Kohelet Yeshiva in Merion Station, Pennsylvania. In addition to earning second place overall, the TABC team also garnered an honorable mention for “Most Novel Code,” as the team created a highly complex and intricate Java program to demonstrate their app idea. This year’s KoHack assignment asked that students create an app to help combat the rise in antisemitism since October 7. The TABC team developed a creative idea to gamify pro-Israel activism and chesed with an app that allows users to perform sponsored actions such as calling congresspeople and attending rallies, raising money for pro-Israel organizations in the process. Congrats to the students on their ingenuity and technical prowess.
