TABC Varsity Hockey Bests Kushner 10-1

Last Tuesday night the TABC varsity hockey team traveled to Kushner to take on the 2-1 Cobras. TABC came out strong off the drop but was unable to score until Joe Moskowitz (Kushner elementary and middle school alum) was able to break the tie with a rocket full-court goal. Late in the first period, TABC capitalized on a power play with a point shot from captain Yair Knoller, to make the score 2-0.

In the second period the Storm really turned it up. The scoring started when Zach Rothenberg buried a ball off Jonah Ganchrow’s shot. Then Daniel Levy found a hole as he wrapped around the net and stuffed the ball in. Levy then made a nice pass to Knoller who scored his second goal of the game. With the score 5-0, Eitan Schneier found Jacob Rosenfeld off the face-off and Rosenfeld buried the shot from the point. With the second period almost over, Captain Yehoshua Naor ripped one passed the goalie to extend the lead to 7.

In the third period, TABC was able to put three more on with goals starting with Rosenfeld and Ganchrow. The scoring in the third was capped off by Yitzi Rothschild, who buried a pass from Daniel Levy for the first goal of his hockey career. Kushner was able to score a goal with seconds left to make the score 10-1.

Goaltender Shua Beilin put up two shut out periods and recorded his first assist. All around it was a terrific effort from the Storm who move to 4-0 and first place in the West. TABC gets a nice break and will play their next game Saturday night November 21 against Frisch.
