The varsity hockey team hosted the MTA Lions in a Motzei Shabbos matchup on December 21 in Teaneck. When the two teams met earlier this season in the Heights, TABC won handily 6-0. The Storm were given a much stiffer test this time around. The first period was a scoreless affair which had some wondering if MTA could pull off the upset. In the second period, seniors Aiden Rauzman and Akiva Mittel scored 15 seconds apart from each other which led the Lions to call a quick timeout. Just a few minutes later, MTA cut the deficit in half. After withstanding some nervy moments in the third period, senior Aryeh Simon was able to firmly shut the door on the Lions’ hopes of a comeback with an insurance goal off the powerplay. TABC won by a final score of 3-1 to remain unbeaten with an 11-0 record heading into the Chanukah break.
