(TABC Sports) The TABC varsity hockey team hosted Frisch in a pivotal weeknight clash with a lot on the line. TABC had revenge on their mind after suffering a heartbreaking close loss in Paramus back in November, while the Cougars had their eye on sweeping the Storm in their season series and taking the top spot in the conference via a tiebreaker. Frisch could not have asked for a better start, scoring two minutes into the game and picking up right where they left off the last time the two teams met. The Storm then started taking it to the Cougars, outrunning, outhitting and outshooting them as the period came to a close. It eventually paid off when they equalized off a backhand rebound tap-in from Yonatan Brothman. TABC were then awarded a powerplay opportunity with less than 20 seconds left in the period and Shay Fields made Frisch pay for it, scoring right before the buzzer sounded. TABC went into the first break up 2-1 and that set the tone heading into the second period, as the Storm tacked on four more goals through Brothman, captain Matis Krause, Fields and Aiden Rauzman, while the Cougars were unable to find a way past goaltending stalwart Amichai Dresdner. Rauzman completed his hat trick in the third period and the Storm won the game in convincing fashion by a final score of 8-3, their 300th win in program history. TABC has now won five in a row and sits comfortably atop first place in the Western Conference with a 7-1 record as they head into the Chanukah break.
