(TABC sports) The TABC varsity hockey team traveled to Washington Heights this past Tuesday for a weeknight battle with the MTA Lions. This was the second meeting of the season between the two teams after the Storm won resoundingly back in November. This game was no different. While the Lions started the game on solid footing, TABC finally broke through halfway through the first period and never looked back. Bentzion Keiser won the faceoff and then placed a perfect pass for an easy tap-in from classmate Aiden Rauzman. The junior phenom would go on to score an additional two goals and complete a hat trick in the first period shortly before Yonatan Brothman capped off the scoring. The Storm had a commanding lead heading into the second period with MTA out of sorts.
The second period scoring started the same way as the first with Keiser finding Rauzman for his fourth goal of the game. Matis Krause, Noam Becker and Akiva Mittel got in on the party with goals of their own (two for Mittel, in fact) and the Storm went on to win by a final score of 9-2.
Shia Forgash got the nod in net and played well, followed by a surprise cameo appearance for the last few minutes of the game from Moshe Strulowitz, filling in as the backup. The Storm now improve to 9-1 and will shift their focus to their game against the DRS Wildcats in the Five Towns next week. This crucial game will most likely determine who the top seed will be in the playoffs.
